Gabriel was diagnosed with croup. It is a virus which causes coughing that sounds like a barking seal. The diagnosis helps me better understand why he was up at 1am last night. Thankfully he is sleeping after a steroid shot.
Hooray! It is not the swine flu, however, the culrpit of the croup could be RSV. As many of you know, RSV was the reason Gabriel was hospitialized with pneumonia last February. For some reason he does not build a resistance to that virus.
I hope the little guy is back on his feet soon!

Is it Swine Flu?
I have been calling the pediatrician everyday for the past two weeks trying to get Gabriel an appointment for the flu shot. Of course, it had not arrived. Today the receptionist told me that the shot just arrived, but they are now booked because of the small amount they received. Then to top it all off when we picked up Gabriel at daycare he was extremely sick. He has a fever, cough, and runny nose. I will update tomorrow after I take him to the pediatrician. Stay well and good night!
The beginning

I have thought about putting this blog together for many months. It will be a great way to update friends & family. Gabriel Ian Villareal was born on April 7, 2007, at 10:30am. He weighed in at 6pounds 4 ounces and 19 inches long. For the past two years he has captured the hearts of Hubert and I. Thanks for reading!
