Merry Christmas!

The Villareal family had a wonderful Christmas. On Christmas Eve Hubert and I went to church for a beautiful service while grandma and grandpa S watched Gabe. He has been really sick this week so we did not want to bring him to church. Then we ate Chinese food and baked cookies for Santa.

On Christmas morning we woke up early for Gabe to open his presents. He was so excited. It was the first time he really understood the Santa concept. He got tons. Below I will list some of his presents. I will post a video soon once I learn how to download from our new video camera.

1. big boy bike/helmet
2. toy kitchen
3. dinoplayland
4. trains, cars and about 20 dvds
5. leapfrog toddler reading system and books
6. tent and play food from grandma and grandpa S.
7. walking, talking, monty t rex from grandma and grandpa V.

In the afternoon Hubert cooked a feast. He made ham, turkey, spinach, sweet potato caserole, stuffing, garlic bread, quiche, filipino fruit salad (yummy!)....and probably more that I am not remembering. He outdid himself.

After lunch we all relaxed by watching Julie and Julia and UP. Both great movies that I highly recommend.

I cannot wait to hear about everyones holidays!

Snow Storm 2009

This weekend we got 20 inches of snow. Everything has closed down and the neighborhood looks beautiful.

It would be so fun to take Gabriel out to build a snowman, but he is sick once again. He has his terrible cough, runny nose and fever of 102. Hubert is taking him to the urgent care. If they are not open he will need to go to the ER. When he gets a fever he needs to be seen right away because he easily gets pneumonia.

Stay warm family and friends in MA, I hear the storm is headed your way!

AGAIN

I was hesitating to post an update because everytime I do it is about sickness. It was a very productive week, but on Thursday Gabe and Hubert got sick. Hubert has bronchitis and Gabe has a cold. Today everyone seems to be on the mend.

We are ready for Christmas. Shopping done, cards mailed and house decorated. Now all I have to do it wrap presents.

On Friday Gabe has his daycare Christmas party. They are singing Jingle Bells. Gabriel sings it Jiggle Bells Jiggle Bells Jiggle all the way. It is hilarious.

Everyone have a nice weekend!

Cute Pictures

He was really getting into the posing!

Christmas Trees and Dinosaurs

Friday after thanksgiving we put up our Christmas tree. Mom and Dad downsized this year and gave us their big beautiful tree. Thanks Mom and Dad! It was late night so we put the tree up while Gabriel was sleeping. I felt a little guilty for not including him in the festivities, but it did make the process a little easier.

When he came downstairs the next morning his eyes lit up. He was fascinated. He kept trying to touch the ornaments and I would tell him not to touch. In turn when his dinosaur figuirnes tried to touch the tree he would say, "mommy said no touch." Ha! Ha! those crazy dinosaurs have a mind of their own.

The first day the tree was up Gabe and I were hanging out around the house. I was upstairs making a phone call and he was supposed to be watching Ice Age Dawn of the Dinosaurs. I heard him yell out, "dinosaurs a football" which was quickly followed by the sound of breaking glass. Gabe and the dinosaurs were playing football with Hubert's glass Indiana Colts ornament. I had to laugh! I hope he does not break too many more because we do not have lots of ornaments.

Gabe continues to be obsessed with dinosaurs. He brought two to daycare today for show and share. While driving to daycare this morning I could have sworn there was a dinosaur roaring in my backseat!

Tree pictures coming soon!
