7 months

Dear Sweet Adeline,

You are 7.5 months old. You drink 6 ounces of milk four or five times a day and you have two meals. For meals you have a vegetable and a gerber oatmeal.

You continue to be the sweetest baby! You love to talk and giggle. You admire your big brother. Surprisingly he is warming up to you lately. He enjoys giving you hugs and kisses. He also brings you his old cars to play with. He hesitates when you try to play with his new cars ie: remote control RC and the Road Ripper.

You are sitting up on your own. You are so determined to crawl. Daddy and I think you are just about ready to start crawling.

You are thriving at daycare. The other day when I came to pick you up you were sitting in the bumbo with a group of other babies sitting next to you and you were all interacting. I think you will grow to be a social little girl.

We love watching you grow!

fun weekend

We had a visit from Leilani, Cohen, Cale and Chase. Friday Leilani and I went out for pedicures and shoppping at Sephora. The boys played outside in the snow. We came home and ate pizza and watched movies. Saturday the boys played some sports in the basement and learned how to care for Rhapsody. Sweet Rhapsody went to live in MI with his cousins! We will miss him soooo much, but at least he will have grandma and grandpa home with him all day and then the boys after school. Ruby and Gracie are already missing him. :(

Saturday night we went to the Chinese buffett. Sunday everyone went to church and then they headed home. Poor Chase was sick the entire time. He was quarantined to the guest room. The other boys started to have colds as the weekend progressed. Hopefully, Addie and Gabe can stay well this time. Sickness seems to always follow us!

Have a great week!

Oh My .... he has the flu

My first baby has the flu. I was in shock when the doctor came in with results of the nose swab. He got his flu shot in November and now this! I was hoping our family was on the mend, but now we are dealing with an epidemic.

Addie weighed in 12.5 oz at her 6 month check-up, she is in the 5th percentile for weight, 25th for height and 25th for head circumference. Go Addie!

Gabe weighed in at 31 pounds on Monday and is now back to 30. I think he has been 30 pounds for a year and a half.

We are expecting some snow tonight. Hoping for a blizzard!

6 months

Dearest Adeline:

Happy 6 month's! Over the past six months you have been a wonderful addition to our family. Your daddy and I are so proud to have you as our daughter. Slowley but sureley Gabriel is warming to you. We keep telling him he better be nice to you because someday he is going want to be invited to your home for the holidays. LOL!

You are sweet, smiley, and lovable. You are now rolling over and trying to sit up. You do not like tummy time too much but you will stick it out if you are trying to get a toy. You love the mobile in your crib. I think you really enjoy music. Your two bottom teeth have popped through.

You have become a daddy's girl. When he gets home from work you smile and squel with delight. And when he is talking you always listen and smile. And them when you want his attention you are sure to stare at him until he notices and then you shoot him a big gummy smile.

I also notice you love to be around people. I am hoping you grow up to be very social. :)

Tomorrow is your six month check up and flu shot. I will update with stats. I am hoping for a clean bill of health after!!

We love you sweet baby girl!

Love,
Mommy

Where have we been?

The Villareal family is still here. We had a wonderful Christmas! Christmas eve we went to evening Mass, ate Chinese food, and baked cinnamon rolls for santa. Christmas day we got up early and watched the little ones open presents. Mostly Gabriel, Addie watched from her bouncer. In the afternoon Hubert cooked us a feast and we rested. My parents joined us for the festivities. Then it snowed. It was so pretty to have a white Christmas. On the 26th we were supposed to leave for Disney World. We canceled our trip because Addie had RSV before Christmas and was recouperating. We spent the entire week at home as a family. We did not have to get up early for work or daycare. We had a really nice time.

This week on Tuesday poor Addie caught another cold which turned into an ear infection and bronchitis. I was so angry that this was happening to her again. The doctor said it could be from the RSV or she could have asthma like Gabriel. It just stinks watching your kids being sick. She is on the mend now after another round of antibiotics and nebulizers. Of course, Thursday night when I got home from work I had a fever and felt terrible. Went to the doctor Friday and he said it was virus. My amazing husband let me sleep while he took over all household duties. Today I am feeling much better and back to my enjoying my cildren, cleaning, and responding to emails. LOL!

Now that everyone is on the mend we are into football playoffs. Let me clarify Hubert is into football playoffs. Gabriel is into puzzles. He is so amazing at puzzles. The kid can put 63 pieces together quickly without even looking the pictures. I am thinking about entering him on the Ellen show for people with special talents. :) Ms. Addie is into being a sweet smiley baby! She rolled over for the first time the other day and is trying to sit up when lying down. I am into losing the baby weight! It is not happening too quickly. Ha!

In two weeks Auntie Leilani, Cohen, Cale, and Chase are coming to visit. We are super excited. Hopefullly, everyone stays well. In the meantime, I will be researching ways to keep my family healthy. Let me know if anyone has any tips.

Back on Track

I have taken a long blog break. All is going well. I am back into my work routine and Adeline is adjusting well to daycare. She is happy and sleepy in the evenings!

As of November 16, Adeline is 4 months old. She weighed in at 11lbs 1 ounce and is in the 5th percentile for weight. She is a tiny thing, but has more than doubled her birth weight. The doctor said she looks great and is meeting all her milestones. She is almost rolling over and is baby talking like crazy. She is drooling too which makes me think she will have some teeth soon! Gabriel had teeth at four months old! She has changed so much in the last month from a crabby baby to pure delight. We think that she is much happier now that she is on Prevacid for her reflux.

We tried Adeline on cereal this weekend, but it did not agree with her. So we have decided to wait until she is 6 months old or is demanding more food. Right now she is drinking 4.5 ounces every 3 hours!

Gabriel is doing great too! He can count to 20 and is learning to write letters. He is really into movies like his daddy! They went to see Megamind last weekend. His vocabulary has really increased over the last few months and he is such a chatter box.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We have so much to be Thankful for! Here is a picture of Adeline’s first Thanksgiving!

Cousins

This past weekend we had a visit from Leilani, Cohen, Cale, and Chase. It was a very special visit for Gabriel because he is finally old enough to really enjoy playing with his cousins. On Friday afternoon they played football and watched Iron Man 11. They got up early Saturday morning to go on a nature walk in the woods, followed by more football, played superheros, and then Golden Corral for all you can eat desserts. Sunday they played outside for most of the morning followed by an afternoon of soccer, hockey and lacrosse and then dinner at the Chinese buffett. The boys surprised Gabriel with a goalie net and some other sports paraphernalia.

They truly enjoyed spending time together. Cohen slept in Gabriel's room! The boys are five+ years older than Gabriel, but when they were together age did not matter. We cannot wait for our next visit in December. Enjoy the pictures!
