For two months the pediatrician has been telling us they do not have a supply of regular flu shots to schedule appointments. I faithfully called each morning hoping to get scheduled. Finally this week out of furstration I called each department of health in VA trying to get him a flu shot. They did not have supply either. On Thursday I spoke to a nice nurse at the pediatrician who heard my case and scheduled him for today (Saturday). Yeah!
Today (day of flu shot) Gabriel woke up coughing with cold symptoms. We are taking him in to be evaluated before getting the shot. I am not sure that he is well enough for the vaccine.
I will let you know the outcome later today! Are any of you getting your children the H1N1 vaccine?
